    Foundations of Faith Community Nursing 2025 - Westberg Curriculum

    Dates: Jan. 30 - April 10, 2025

    Online class Thursday nights 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. MST with 30 minute break --- with in-person final project and commissioning on Saturday April 26, 2025 at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda, Denver, Co 80246.

    $400 course fee + participant manual
    Partial scholarships may be available for FCN in the Rockies members

    Shenandoah University’s Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing’s Faith Community Nurse Certificate Program will offer Foundations of Faith Community Nursing in 2025.

    This course will be offered in an online format. 

    DATES:   February 12 - April 23, 2025 

    There are six zoom sessions. The rest of the course will be completed online.

    COST:  approximately $450 (plus $55 for manual which is available only from the Westberg Institute online store. 

     Some scholarships may be available  for qualified nurses.

    CONTINUING EDUCATION:     Earn 36.5 CEs (contact hours)

    Deadline for Completed Application: ONE WEEK BEFORE THE COURSE START DATE.

    • Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.

    The Parish Nurse Ministry Program of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN will be offering the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course April 28-May 2, 2025 (the deadline to register is April 1st). The course will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. This will be a full week of in-person/classroom learning activities as we do not offer a distance learning option. The program is open to licensed RNs who are interested in personal growth and/or starting a health and healing ministry within a faith community.  

    Based on the current 2024 curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute, the program topics include: 

    • The role of the faith community nurse within a health/healing ministry team
    • Spiritual care and prayer
    • Integrating faith and health and caring for those experiencing issues across the lifespan 
    • A mentoring session, Service of Healing, and Service of Dedication.

    The program cost of $450 includes the participant workbook, current practice standards for FCNs, and a binder of program specific materials. We are completing the application to offer 36.5 contact hours. A small scholarship is available to those who are not sponsored by a faith community. The cost also includes refreshments and some meals for the week. Lodging is not available on site but there are many hotels in the F/M area.
