Hello! I am Anita Huntley, Faith Community Nurse (FCN) at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Snohomish, Washington, and Region One Director on the Evangelical Lutheran Parish Nurse Association (ELPNA) board. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and my Master’s in Public Health from Benedictine University in Chicago.  I completed a foundation course in Faith Community Nursing several years ago and have remained active in our specialty practice ever since at the level time would allow. Since my retirement from school nursing, I have increased my health ministry time and have been moving my practice into new directions.  

On a personal note, I was born Lutheran in Crosby, ND.  I was raised from age 8 to 18, just North of Denver, and met my husband in Tacoma while I was going to PLU.  I have lived in Snohomish, Washington, a small town within commuting distance of Everett and Seattle for 33 years.  Snohomish is close enough to both larger communities for concerts, theatre, and fine dining, and I look forward to attending the high school football games and parades now that COVID is under control. 

I am hoping to find other FCNs/PNs within Region1.  We could identify our practice strengths, share support, and learn from one another! In this way we will be able to assist each other in ongoing education, online communication.
