LFCNA 2025 Annual Membership Meeting and Educational Offering on 
Being a Dementia Friendly Congregation

Course Description: Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia. Learn the critical aspects to better understand dementia, how it affects people and how we each can make a difference in the lives of families. Attendees become Dementia Friends and are asked to turn their understanding of dementia into action, helping transform our communities.

Presenter Information: Janice Greeno, MA, BA is the Senior Outreach Program Manager at Banner Sun Health Research Institute and Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, where she is honored to promote outstanding clinical care and revolutionary research. She has been with Banner Health over 17 years. Since 2020, she has served as the Dementia Friendly Arizona State Lead. Since 2020 and supported Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Glendale, Pima County, Goodyear, and Sun Lakes in joining Tempe and Surprise, making a total of nine Dementia Friendly communities in Arizona.

The LFCNA Annual Membership meeting will follow the educational event.
Contact hours: 1.0 Contact hour is provided (see requirements below).  There is NO COST for this educational offering, but registration is required so you receive the zoom link. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify three physical, emotional and/or cognitive characteristics that are typically present when someone is experiencing dementia
  • Name three ways that dementia affects the person with the disease and those who interact with them
  • Articulate two strategies that one can employ to support the person with dementia and those who care for them.

This activity has been submitted to Montana Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. Montana Nurses Association is accredited with distinction as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. To receive contact hours for this event, attendees must attend the entire event and submit a completed evaluation form.
